The 2025 theme: Living the Lord’s Prayer: A Lenten Journey
For many of us, it is the first passage of scripture that we learned by heart. It is recited in worship and in the confines of private spaces. In the Modern English translation of the Gospel of Matthew, it is 68 words. It is the Lord’s Prayer.
This prayer that Jesus taught his disciples is simple and direct…and also profound. The theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer believed that the Lord’s Prayer is the summation of all of our prayers.
There is much to “unpack” within the beauty and power of the Lord’s Prayer, and this year’s NUMC women’s retreat is an ideal setting in which to delve into these words and their meaning in our lives. Join us for an exploration of these sacred verses, led by the women of National UMC.
Come to connect, reflect, discover and renew.
This year our retreat will return to the lovely Priest Field Pastoral Center, Kearneysville, West Virginia—about 70 miles from Washington. Along with interactive sessions and joyful fellowship, time will be set aside for self-directed activities, quiet contemplation, and spirit-filled worship.
