Information about the 2026 Women's Retreat
  • The retreat will be held on March 20-22, 2025, at Priest Field Pastoral Center in Kearneysville, WV. 
  • ​Registration includes two nights' accommodation and meals. Space is limited. ​
  • The cost is $285 for a double room and $325 for a single room. For online registration. a fee of $9 will be added to cover the processing fees that Square charges.

​The 2026 theme is Perfect Pairs: Dynamic Discipleship Duos in the New Testament 
Two heads, the saying goes, are better than one. But what about two disciples? Perhaps they are matches made in heaven? Or maybe they are odd couples… 

Or, just maybe, they are all of the above. The theme of this year’s NUMC women’s retreat is Perfect Pairs: Dynamic Discipleship Duos in the New Testament. You are cordially invited to join the women of NUMC to discover and discuss some lesser-known disciples and surprising pairs in the Gospels. Two are not just better than one; these pairs of disciples help us see Jesus more clearly and follow God's call more faithfully.

We will once again gather at the lovely Priest Field Pastoral Center, Kearneysville, West Virginia—about 70 miles from Washington.

Along with interactive sessions and joyful fellowship, time will be set aside for self-directed activities, quiet contemplation, and spirit-filled worship. We invite the women of NUMC to come connect, reflect, discover and renew. Consider making it part of your Lenten journey.
Our leader
Leading us on this journey will be Rev. Dr. Laura Sweat Holmes. Dr. Holmes is an ordained elder in the Pacific Northwest conference of the UMC and Professor of New Testament at Wesley Theological Seminary. She loves to teach the Gospels and how they are formative for our lives today. An avid reader, college basketball fan, and fiber artist, she and her husband live in Charlottesville, Virginia.
